Why pray / perform rituals in Navratras?

People have often asked me as to why they should perform certain rituals or pray only during special times or on specific days.
Celebration of a lot of festivals in many religions of the world has always been connected to a lot of extent to the placements of various planets in a particular order in the galaxy and also as per lunar cycle movements.
Dates of such cosmic movements, these days are pre-calculated (thanks to our advanced satellites) and made available to the practitioners to announce the celebration of certain special  cosmic alignments and tap these energies to harness them in a positive direction, through the celebration of festivals.
Just the way energies of the sun are responsible for sustaining life on the planet, similarlyenergies from the other heavenly bodies also play an important and invisible role in our lives.Auspicious and harmonious results are achieved when we align the performance of our rituals/prayers with the planetary alignments.
Just the way if I plant a healthy seed during cloudy days and it is deprived of receiving sunshine, which is so essential for its growth and performance of the basic task of photosynthesis, its growth will be slower as compared to a seed which receives direct sunshine along with water at the right time.

Usually when we perform a ritual, we are planting a seed, “a seed of intention”. The purpose of this intention could be anything, from making a wish to seeking forgiveness etc. So, if it is done ‘at the right time’, when it receives the right planetary energies from the cosmos and also if this is synchronised with your ‘personal divine time’, the results are faster and positive and sometimes magical.
Every planet in the galaxy emits energy through its energy field. Just because most of us cannot see and feel it like the sun’s energy, (clairvoyant’s and energy workers can often feel it though) they disregard its existence because for such souls, the belief of existence comes only from the belief of presence- which they can feel and sense only through the 5 sense organs of this physical body.
But everything which is there around us on the planet is not ‘seeable’. A lot of invisible forces are present on this planet which obviously cannot be seen by the naked eye.
Air is all around us, we sustain and survive because of it. Withdrawal of air/oxygen for few minutes from us makes it challenging for us to exist. But can I see it?
I stand here on ‘Mother Earth’ and so does my house,my car. Why? Due to ‘gravity’. But can I see gravity?. The waves respond beautifully to the various phases of the moon, which means the energies of the moon ‘affects’ them. Similarly, the energies of these planets ‘affect’ us, they affect all of us.
Understanding this and then using and applying this tool to make the best out of our life’s purpose on this planet therefore is important. It makes our journey easier to sail through.
So,any intention we want to manifest, any prayers, any remedies or any rituals we wish to perform,if done during this auspicious time will bring positive results if done correctly.
